The new golden era

Dear Mr. President BBM, First of all, I would like to congratulate you on winning the election last May. My parents  voted for good governance, transparency, the dignity of human life, a sound climate change agenda and economic reform but the majority of Filipinos chose otherwise. I'm hoping for progress. Under your leadership, I want to see the Filipino people prosper. Keep your promise to the Philippines, the nation you chose to rule.       I'd like to share some issues with you as president that I hope you can address. Giving underprivileged citizens opportunities can really benefit our nation. By making jobs available, people can support themselves and their families by earning money on their own. I'm hoping you'll be open and honest. Even if they come from the opposition, pay attention to what others have to say. I am confident that you have what it takes to serve the nation. I particularly pledge my support for you. I sincerely hope...

Stuck at Home

On January 30, 2020, WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global health emergency. This led to a global lockdown. At the beginning of the pandemic, I felt clueless and trapped, knowing that I would be spending weeks, and months, stuck at home with my family. This pandemic really had a huge impact on my life, including my hobbies.      In the last two years, all I have done is eat, attend online classes, do modules, play video games, and sleep. Repeating this everyday routine helped me fight boredom, but after doing this for a week, I got bored. When my lola bought me an acoustic guitar, I started learning chord progression and guitar theory, which helped me discover a new hobby during this pandemic. With the internet, I was able to continue studying through online classes and modules. Although I was able to communicate with my friends through the internet, it wasn't enough for me. I still felt that in-person chatting with friends was the best.  ...

A Few Words About Myself

Hello, I'm Roi Vince Andrei A. Viloria, age 15 and born on October 7, 2007, at Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur. I'm currently living in Camella Homes Bantay, Ilocos Sur. I'm a 10th grader and am a part of the special science class. I started in this program in seventh grade. Furthermore, I've faced challenges because of being in this class, which were really enjoyable for me to overcome. My zodiac sign is libra.     I would describe myself now as a kind, funny, curious, wondrous, and shy person. My hobbies are playing video games, watching, playing guitar, and sleeping. I am really interested in sports cars and JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars. When I was a kid, I always dreamt about having a Toyota Trueno AE86, Ferrari F40, Nissan Skyline GTR, and Mazda MX-5 Miata NA. I love to drive cars as well.      I am still 15 years old. I should take it slow and just enjoy my teenage life. I am hoping that one day I will become a successful cardiologist. Tha...

Problem solver

Teachers' Day is one of the most memorable days for all teachers. It is the time of year where we all thank our teachers for trying their best to teach us. Teachers can also be thought of as our heroes, mentors, counselors, second parents, and guides on the road to success.      As a student, I can say that teachers had a significant influence on how I developed as a person. I have gained a lot of knowledge, whether it be in the form of academic or life teachings. Many of these teachings stuck with me, and I now use them to guide every choice I make in my daily life. Teachers are without a doubt our role models and mentors in all facets of life. If it weren't for my teachers, I would not be able to be this version of myself. Teachers will always have an important place in my heart, and I will never forget the kindness, compassion, and support they have shown me while I continue my journey to success.      I admire the...
